spoiler alert: the whole "STRANGEWAYS" crew LOVES david bowie. (maybe you got the memo?) so, it is not uncommon for a lugubrious pall to hang in the air at s-dubs HQ this time of season. how can one stay focused on the excitement of the new year, with the anniversary of the passing of our dearly departed starman looming just beyond the horizon?

last year, we found that the psychotherapeutic use of movement to support the intellectual and emotional stability of the body was EXACTLY what we needed to get by. so once again, for this very special edition of FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS®, BOWIE will challenge BOWIE, and we shall all rejoice!

the night will feature an assortment of hits, deep cuts, and rare gems spanning his entire iconic career:

ziggy stardust? check!
aladdin sane? you betcha!
the thin white duke? sure thing!
major tom? got him!
jareth the goblin king? hmm, maybe. who knows?!

anyways, the point of all this is: we will be celebrating the life and musical legacy of one of our all time #1 heroes and we hope that you all will join us!!

for the opening undercard bout, we have selected mr. david bowie's two favorite artistic bookends of the punk movement's first wave: LOU REED & THE VELVET UNDERGROUND vs. IGGY POP & THE STOOGES!

each separated from the starman by only one degree, and these two legacies have the unique distinction of being both inspirations that challenged bowie to push musical boundaries early in his career, and the beneficiaries of his ambitious bursts of creative genius as a producer. hot damn - a perfect symbiotic relationship!

basically, it's going to be a viscerally charged night full of cathartic intergalactic dance vibes that we can't wait to share!!
