We are so excited to announce the second installment of the Beyond Microtonal Music Festival! This season's festival will focus on the theme of “Cultural Roots/Cultural Intersections” and will explore compelling microtonal music that travels across cultural boundaries. Through three days of concerts and symposia, Beyond will address the nature and current status of “microtonal music” and especially its relationship to World Music as well as the diversity within our own community.

This FREE afternoon marathon concert will include Pittsburgh new music ensembles alongside guest artists.

Alia Musica, Nat 28, Kamraton, Wolf Trap, ELCO, Elizabeth Brown
(shakuhachi soloist), Ted Mook (cello), Eric Moe (piano), Katherine Growdon (mezzo-soprano), Anna Elder (soprano), Eric Moe (piano), and the University of Pittsburgh Gamelan, performing Alvin Lucier, Julia Werntz, Devon Tipp, Ezra Sims and more.

(The lineup will be updated with specific performance order soon.)
