Hazelwood Local is excited to announce an upcoming art project called ‘Illumin-Ave’, a series of five light and art installations in storefronts and on buildings along Hazelwood’s historic Second Avenue starting Friday, December 3rd through January 2022.

With technical expertise and artistic direction from partner Clear Story, key neighborhood landmarks like the Carnegie Library, Floriated Interpretation, and Elizabeth Pharmacy, as well as the intersections of Tipton Street (5017 Second Avenue) and Flowers Avenue (4901 Second Avenue), will host original works from Alisha Wormsley, Ian Brill, Mikael Owunna, and Clear Story. The pieces will both be illuminated by light, and will illuminate the buildings’ features, for a re-interpretation of both the art and the spaces themselves.

Drive, bike, or scoot your way along Hazelwood's main artery and see these gorgeous installations come to life every night! The Pittsburgh community can also celebrate these installations and local businesses at Hazelwood Initiative’s annual Light Up Night on Monday, December 6th from 6:00-8:00pm.
