This year's theme merges the Cyber Punk aesthetic with elements of AfroPunk to create a futuristic genre we like to call "AstroPunk".
Experience a dystopian future where high tech and low life combines with the alternative subculture of black punks. It's going to be a science fiction mess!
Taking place on Saturday, August 6th 2022 from 8pm-1am at the Priory Grand Hotel on Pittsburgh's Northside, the underground ballroom community will take the mainstage for all to enjoy.

MONEY TABLES:
On top of our original grand prizes, we introduce "The Money Table$"
-There are 10 total House Tables that can be reserved.
-4 of these tables are FREE
-6 of these tables are “Money Tables”
-Money Tables can be reserved for $350 until sold out.
During the ball, each money table will control a $600 bank for a total of $3,600 in table money. This money is in addition to the already set grand prizes.
-Tables will receive an envelope with Galaxy Coin after LSS.
-Throughout the night each house can utilize their $600 on any category they choose by placing a wager before the call of the category. -No more than $150 per table can be placed on a single category. If all tables contribute the max to the same category, that will increase that grand prize by $900!
-This will allow the most contested categories to have cash prizes and may boost the other cash prizes to much larger amounts.
-Just because a house controls a Money Table does not mean their members have an advantage at winning. We are just allowing you to allot money to the categories in the same way a promoter would.

The Motherboard
A motherboard is the main component of every computer that allows a variety of components to communicate. Most computers made today, including smartphones, tablets, notebooks, and desktop computers, use motherboards to pull everything together for a smooth operation. Looking at motherboard from the top down, you’ll see a collection of circuits, wires, metals, and other fragments that all combine to route signals and power throughout the computer.
Tonight your wires got crossed and you will bring it down the runway as "the Motherboard". Show the judges what the inside of your computer looks like.
2] OTA PERFORMANCE: $600
The Return of the Club Kidz
Blending elements of circus, punk rock, sci-fi, and manga, the Club Kids were outlandish, provocative, and way ahead of their time.
Tonight, we want to see a line of Club kidz ready to battle like back alley cats. Club Kidz put a particular emphasis on wearing extravagant outfits and make-up to embody a fantasy. Do your research.

AfroPunk Festival
Thug vs Executive vs School vs Pretty vs Everyday (No Legends)
The AstroPunk Festival is an annual arts festival that features music, film, fashion, and art by black artists. It’s goal is to bring together like minded alternative black punks for a weekend of cultured fun. You received a free ticket to the festival so show up in your AfroPunk Festival Attire and sell your realness to the judges. NO LEGENDS.

The Astro Awards
Every August, the most talented musicians gather for the annual Astro Awards. Similar to the Grammys or Oscars, the most famous artists attend with hopes of winning an award for their recent works.
Tonight, you are nominated for 3 Astro Awards and we want to see you on the red carpet in a futuristic look that screams Black Hollywood.
5] TAG TEAM FQ REALNESS: $600
Two Moons
Phobos and Deimos are the only 2 moons in Mars’ orbit. Each moon has very similar but also different characteristics. Eventually Phobos will be broken up into small pieces by crashing into Mars. However, Deimos is slowly getting stronger becoming similar to Earth’s moon.
Tonight, both ladies will represent each moon through different fashion subcultures.
1 lady must represent as a goth for the death of Phobos
The other must represent as a hipster for the trendy characteristics of Deimos.
6] LEGENDARY PERFORMANCE: $300
Black Punk Legends
Rock music has been erasing black originators since the beginning of time in an effort to make it more palatable for white consumers. Black people have been so thoroughly erased from rock that it’s even considered “white music” by our own community. In fact, the genre was influenced by the deep south black music we like to call "The Blues."
Tonight, we are putting the BLACK back in rock and roll. We want to see the legends in a rock and roll effect that would make Prince gag and Little Richard proud.
7] MF VS FF SEX SIREN: $300
Royal Warrior
Black is King and tonight you are his protector. We want the sex sirens to come as the king's favorite warrior. His most powerful and precious prize. You are to present yourself as an African Warrior with 1 prop as your “weapon of choice”.

Clash of the Gods
In an all white effect wearing a royal headpiece, bring it to the panel to be crowned the realest of them all.

A concept originating from the unacknowledged presence and influence of black people and culture within the predominantly white punk scene.
Tonight you are the reminder that black is beautiful and that people pay to look like us. You have features that stand out tonight, highlight your best features in gold.
10] DOUBLE TROUBLE PART 1:
Comm vs Comm
$150
Tonight the commentators must team up with a hand performer for their 10s.
MC’s will get 10s by chanting an original chant for their partner. Both the hand performer and commentator must receive 10s for the commentator to move on.
Commentators will then battle each other chant 4 chant until 1 remains.
The hand performers who received 10s with their commentator will automatically receive 10s for the hand performance category. If a hand performer was chopped with the commentator, they can still compete in the hand performance category by receiving 10s with everyone else.
11] DOUBLE TROUBLE PART 2:
Hand Performance
$150
Hand performers will sit face to face in a creative glove, telling a story that inspires us all!
Hand performers who received their 10s during the commentator round will not have to get 10s again.
12] OLD-WAY VS NEW-WAY
Nostalgia
As we look forward to the future we must always remember our past. Tonight we want to create a moment of ballroom nostalgia by wearing 2 iconic effects for the Old-way and New-way categories.
Old Way - We we want to feel like it’s 1999. Bring it in a classic sweatsuit
New Way - We want Kung Fu Pussy, wearing ninja attire.
13] TRANSMEN REALNESS
The Scientist
We all just want to have fun but we tend to forget that our planet is going through a tough time of it's own. Global warming, natural disasters, and human interaction are impacting the Earth in unimaginable ways.
Tonight, you are part of an elite group of scientists tasked with saving our planet from its own demise. All scientists have lab coats and glasses. (No shades)
