This Halloween, join Beers of the Burgh and Brew Gentlemen at one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic industrial sites, Carrie Furnace, for an eerie evening as it transforms into… the Scary Furnace.
For one night only, we’ll get spooky under the looming smokestacks and in the shadows of the legendary Carrie deer with a fall beer mini-fest, a high-energy dance party, and the ominous potential for paranormal activity.
In the courtyard of the mill, Beers of the Burgh will host a 2-hour mini-festival with 12 local breweries that will feature tastings of seasonal styles from harvest ales to pumpkin stouts. As the sun sets, we’ll pump up the volume, embrace the darkness, and shift into dance mode.
Throughout the evening, Brew Gentlemen will pour their award-winning beers (along with craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and local food truck offerings). Back-cast by the moonlit shadow of the old blast furnace, Beauty Slap will headline the outdoor stage, and Title Town will light up the Historic Power House with their signature soul & funk dance party. In addition to the headliners, DJs throughout the evening will keep you dancing the night away on the dance floor centered in an old hangar bay of the mill.
To make a day of it, you are invited to pregame with a guided Ghost Tour of the Carrie Blast Furnace beginning at 3pm. The awesome folks from Rivers of Steel will give you an inside, on-site look into the dark history of this storied landmark before the tasting starts and the party gets into gear.
Costumes are encouraged.
